One of the joys of conference organisation is working alongside teams of dedicated and passionate people. ANE Conference, underwritten by Canterbury DHB, was one of these experiences.
Eventuate staff members met regularly with the organising committee to design a creative, inspiring and enjoyable conference. Although Eventuate is based in Wellington, potential communication issues were easily overcome by the use of teleconferencing, frequent phone updates with the conference convenors and regular monthly meetings with the organising committee. Organising the conference from another location was of little consequence – rather, regular communication with the conference convenors and supply of information ensured its success.
This conference had an Australasian focus, with delegates expected to attend from throughout the world – a truly international profile and access were required. Eventuate’s cost-effective webpage based solution provided a conference-specific designed webpage which simply and efficiently handled delegate registration, payments and receipting, abstract submissions, pre-selection of concurrent sessions and delegate communication (including regular email updates and online printable attendance certificates). This innovative design supplied an efficient, environmentally friendly system which could be accessed worldwide. Many delegates commented on the easy, user-friendly access to information.
The conference organising committee also enjoyed the satisfaction of creating a fabulous event which had delegates raving about its organisation. Certainly we enjoyed the experience of working with such a creative organising team, and were very satisfied with the highly professional but friendly and inspiring conference environment. |
